TLDR
In this article, a complete dataset of the chemical and isotopic compositions of fumarolic fluids collected on the S. Miguel (Fogo and Furnas volcanoes) and Terceira (Pico Alto volcano) Islands is presented, to provide a comprehensive picture of the thermodynamic conditions of the hydrothermal systems on these two islands, and to give new insight into the origins of these fluids, for a better understanding of the geodynamic context of the Azores archipelago.

Estimation of the CO2 flux from Furnas volcanic Lake (São Miguel, Azores)

TL;DR: In this paper, a study on diffuse CO 2 degassing was conducted at Furnas lake (Sao Miguel island, Azores) in order to estimate the total CO 2 output and identify anomalous degassing areas over the lake.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical and isotopic characteristics of fluids in the Niutuozhen geothermal field, North China

TL;DR: In this article, chemical and isotopic analyses were carried out on 14 samples of the geothermal fluids discharged from Neogene Minghuazhen (Nm), Guantao (Ng), and Jixianian Wumishan (Jxw) formations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Abiogenesis not required to explain the origin of volcanic-hydrothermal hydrocarbons

TL;DR: Fiebig et al. as discussed by the authors presented the first global investigation of the carbon and hydrogen isotopic compositions of n-alkanes in volcanic-hydrothermal fluids hosted by basaltic, andesitic, trachytic and rhyolitic rocks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Automatic Filtering of Soil CO2 Flux Data. Different Statistical Approaches Applied to Long Time Series

TL;DR: In this paper, different statistical approaches applied to the long time series recorded in this degassing area, focusing on the application of stepwise multivariate regression analysis, wavelets and Fast Fourier Transform to understand the CO2 flux variations and to detect eventual anomalous periods that can represent deep changes in the volcano feeding reservoirs.

Isotopic Variations in Meteoric Waters

TL;DR: The relationship between deuterium and oxygen-18 concentrations in natural meteoric waters from many parts of the world has been determined with a mass spectrometer and shows a linear correlation over the entire range for waters which have not undergone excessive evaporation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geothermal solute equilibria. Derivation of Na-K-Mg-Ca geoindicators

TL;DR: In this paper, the relative Na, K, Mg and Ca contents of thermal waters in full equilibrium with a thermodynamically stable mineral system derived through isochemical recrystallization of an average crustal rock are, at a given temperature and salinity, uniquely fixed.

Noble Gas Geochemistry

TL;DR: The Earth References Index as discussed by the authors is a collection of articles about the physical chemistry and cosmochemistry of the Earth that can be found in the Google Docs directory. But they are not related to this paper.

A redetermination of the isotopic abundances of atmospheric Ar

TL;DR: In this article, the isotopic abundances of atmospheric Ar were determined using a dynamically operated isotope ratio mass spectrometer with minor modifications and special gas handling techniques to avoid fractionation.
