Glutamine synthetase from rice plant roots.
TLDR
Among the nucleotides tested, AMP, ADP, GTP, and IDP gave substantial inhibition dependent on their physiological concentrations; AMP and ADP showed a competitive inhibition with respect to ATP, while GTP a strong uncompetitive inhibition against ATP and a mixed-type inhibition with regard to glutamate.About:

The pathway of nitrogen assimilation in plants
Benjamin J. Miflin,Peter J. Lea +1 more
TL;DR: There is other evidence to support the contention that the assimilation of ammonia into amino acids occurs via glutamine synthetase and glutamate synthase, and that it is unlikely that glutamate dehydrogenase plays a major role in nitrogen assimilation in bacteria or higher plants except in circumstances of ammonia excess.

NaCl effects on proline metabolism in rice (Oryza sativa) seedlings
TL;DR: It is suggested that proline accumulation is a symptom of salt-stress injury in rice and that its accumulation in salt-sensitive plants results from an increase in OAT activity and a increase in the endogenous pool of its precursor glutamate.

TL;DR: Glutamine synthetase was purified to apparent homogeneity from the shoots of light-grown pea seedlings and was found to be quite unstable, but could be partially stabilized by the addition of divalent cation.

Silicon supplementation ameliorated the inhibition of photosynthesis and nitrate metabolism by cadmium (Cd) toxicity in Cucumis sativus L.
TL;DR: Investigation of chlorophyll a fluorescence indicated that Cd treatment decreasing photosynthesis was not due to stomatal restriction, while was closely related integrity damage or function lost of the photosynthetic machinery which can be concluded from the higher intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci) and lower Fv/Fm and ΦPSII.

Multiple molecular forms of glutamine synthetase produced by enzyme catalyzed adenylation and deadenylylation reactions.
TL;DR: Evidence has been obtained indicating that hybrid molecules do exist and that heterologous interaction between adenylylation and unadenylylated subnunits in such hybrid molecules affect the molecular stability, and the biosynthetic catalytic potential of both kinds of subunits.

Regulation of glutamine synthetase. 3. Cumulative feedback inhibition of glutamine synthetase from Escherichia coli.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the glutamine Synthetase of Escherichia coli possesses separate binding sites for each of the eight inhibitors and that there is no significant interaction between these binding sites; i.e., each inhibitor is independent in its action.
