Structural and Solubility Parameter Correlations of Gelation Abilities for Dihydroxylated Derivatives of Long-Chain, Naturally Occurring Fatty Acids

TL;DR: The results demonstrate how the efficiency of gelation can be modulated by very small structural changes and also suggest how other structural modifications may be exploited to create efficient gelators.

Enhanced catalyst performance through compartmentalization exemplified by colloidal l-proline modified microgel catalysts.

TL;DR: The synthesis of a versatile, colloidal microgel catalyst containing covalently bound l-proline as an organocatalyst is reported, showing that the catalytic activity can be tuned by adjusting the distribution of the organoc atalyst in the microgel network as well as the properties of the solvent.

The impact of ethylene glycol and hydrogen sulphide on the performance of cellulose triacetate membranes in natural gas sweetening

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of glycols on the gas transport performance of cellulose triacetate membranes was studied, and they found that the glycol absorbed into the membrane initially obstructs the permeation of CH 4 and CO 2, due to pore filling or anti-plasticisation effects, but the permeability then increases again, indicative of polymer relaxation and a loss of crystallinity in the polymer.

Thermal annealing to influence the vapor sensing behavior of co-continuous poly(lactic acid)/polystyrene/multiwalled carbon nanotube composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the volatile organic compound (VOC) vapor sensing properties of conductive polymer blend composites (CPCs) were studied for the main purpose of being used as vapor leakage detector.

A method for estimating both the solubility parameters and molar volumes of liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, an indirect method of estimating the solubility parameter of high molecular weight polymers is proposed, which is based on group additive constants, but is believed to be superior to Small's method for two reasons: (1) the contribution of a much larger number of functional groups have been evaluated, and (2) the method requires only a knowledge of structural formula of the compound.
