In situ LA-ICPMS U–Pb dating of cassiterite without a known-age matrix-matched reference material: Examples from worldwide tin deposits spanning the Proterozoic to the Tertiary

TLDR
In this article, the authors proposed a new approach for in situ LA-ICPMS dating of cassiterite, which benefits from the unique chemistry of cassitite with extremely low Th concentrations (Th/U ratio of 10−4 or lower) in some cassite samples.

U–Pb geochronology of tin deposits associated with the Cornubian Batholith of southwest England: Direct dating of cassiterite by in situ LA-ICPMS

TL;DR: In this paper, the first results of direct dating of cassiterite were obtained from tin deposits associated with seven different plutons within the Cornubian Batholith for in situ LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating.

A possible linkage between highly fractionated granitoids and associated W-mineralization in the Mesozoic Yaogangxian granitic intrusion, Nanling region, South China

TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated study of whole-rock geochemistry, LA ICP-MS zircon U-Pb geochronology, and Zircon Hf isotopic geochemistry of the YGX granitic intrusion was undertaken to constrain its magmatic source and petrogenesis.

Miocene Sn polymetallic mineralization in the Tethyan Himalaya, southeastern Tibet: A case study of the Cuonadong deposit

TL;DR: In this article, the isotopic dating results demonstrate that the Cuonadong Sn-W-Be-Rb mineralization has a close genetic relationship with the Miocene leucogranite magmatic hydrothermal activity.

Approximation of terrestrial lead isotope evolution by a two-stage model

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-stage model for terrestrial lead isotope evolution is proposed, which permits the age of the earth to be that of the meteorite system and also yields good model ages for samples of all ages.

Iolite: Freeware for the visualisation and processing of mass spectrometric data

TL;DR: Iolite is a non-commercial software package developed to aid in the processing of inorganic mass spectrometric data, with a strong emphasis on visualisation versus time of acquisition, to provide a powerful framework for data processing and interpretation, while giving users the ability to implement their own data reduction protocols.
