Primary ocular melioidosis due to a single genotype of Burkholderia pseudomallei in two cats from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia

TL;DR: Both cases were caused by the same multilocus sequence type of B pseudomallei (ST 116), which had only been isolated previously from two human patients, both living in the same isolated geographical area as the cats of this report.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation and comparison of serum procalcitonin and heparin-binding protein levels as biomarkers of bacterial infection in cats.

TL;DR: High procalcitonin levels in cats were associated with bacterial infection and could be a valuable marker for diagnosing bacterial infections in cats.
Journal ArticleDOI

New Drugs in Veterinary Dermatology

TL;DR: Several different new drugs currently being used in dermatology showed some promise as being a useful therapy in veterinary medicine, but a few have questionable efficacy (nonsedating antihistamines).
Journal ArticleDOI

Haemorrhagic pneumonia in sled dogs caused by Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus - one fatality and two full recoveries: a case report.

TL;DR: The necropsy results, treatment regime, rehabilitation and the chronology of vaccination, stressful events and disease in three cases of canine infectious respiratory disease among racing dogs are discussed.
Journal Article
