TLDR
The concept of custom power is now becoming familiar as mentioned in this paper and it describes the value-added power that electric utilities and other service providers will offer their customers in the future The improved level of reliability of this power, in terms of reduced interruptions and less variation, will stem from an integrated solution to present problems, of which a prominent feature will be the application of power electronic controllers to utility distribution systems and/or at the supply end of many industrial and commercial customers and industrial parks.
Abstract
Changes in customers' needs require improvements in the reliability and quality of the electricity supply This paper describes how the concept of custom power is now becoming familiar The term describes the value-added power that electric utilities and other service providers will offer their customers in the future The improved level of reliability of this power, in terms of reduced interruptions and less variation, will stem from an integrated solution to present problems, of which a prominent feature will be the application of power electronic controllers to utility distribution systems and/or at the supply end of many industrial and commercial customers and industrial parks >

Control strategy based on equivalent fundamental and odd harmonic resonators for single-phase DVRs

TL;DR: In this article, a digital control strategy based on equivalent fundamental and odd harmonic resonators is proposed for single-phase DVRs, which is simple in terms of its structure and implementation.

Design and Simulation of UPQC with Super-Capacitor to Energy Storage and Improve Power Quality

TL;DR: In this article, a new configuration of UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) that consists of the DC/DC converter and the super-capacitors for compensating the voltage interruption was proposed.

A Survey of Voltage Sags and Voltage Swells Phenomena in Power Quality Problems

TL;DR: In this paper, power quality is defined as the variation of voltage, current, and frequency in a power system, and power quality problems encompass a wide range of disturbances such as voltage sags/swells, flicker, harmonics distortion, impulse transient, and interruptions.

Design of DSTATCOM Controller for Compensating Unbalances

TL;DR: This paper proposes the shunt connected, current injecting Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) with appropriate controller to mitigate the unbalanced load current and the symmetrical components based Hysteresis Current Controller (HCC) is designed for DSTATCOM to diminish the unbalances in a three-phase three-wire system.
