TLDR
The concept of custom power is now becoming familiar as mentioned in this paper and it describes the value-added power that electric utilities and other service providers will offer their customers in the future The improved level of reliability of this power, in terms of reduced interruptions and less variation, will stem from an integrated solution to present problems, of which a prominent feature will be the application of power electronic controllers to utility distribution systems and/or at the supply end of many industrial and commercial customers and industrial parks.
Abstract
Changes in customers' needs require improvements in the reliability and quality of the electricity supply This paper describes how the concept of custom power is now becoming familiar The term describes the value-added power that electric utilities and other service providers will offer their customers in the future The improved level of reliability of this power, in terms of reduced interruptions and less variation, will stem from an integrated solution to present problems, of which a prominent feature will be the application of power electronic controllers to utility distribution systems and/or at the supply end of many industrial and commercial customers and industrial parks >

Role of DSTATCOM in a power system network with induction furnace load

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the application of distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) with fuzzy controller in a distribution network with induction furnace load and presented the results obtained for the SIMULINK model illustrating the application for DSTATCOM with Fuzzy controller for reducing the harmonic distortion in the load current in the distribution network.

Hybridisation of energy storage for multiple input DC-DC converters

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a novel topology of hybridizing battery, supercapacitor and hybrid capacitors for optimum utilization of energy in electric vehicles, which can be extended to other applications having a load profile with high crest factors.

E-Learning for Power Quality

TL;DR: Different network options in a centralized or distributed power system and power electronics based compensators are introduced in the form of a new web-based, software learning tool and the frequent solutions of power factor correction applied on low power level of several hundred watts are treated.

“Monitoring and unbalance mitigation of harmonic current symmetrical components, using Double Complex-ADALINE Algorithm”

TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach for fast and accurate estimation of fundamental and harmonic symmetrical components is presented, where the three-phase input signals are simplified into a real-imaginary system using Park vector.

Solid-state 13-kV distribution class circuit breaker: planning, development and demonstration

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the planning, development and demonstration of solid-state 13 kV distribution class circuit breakers, which can instantaneously transfer sensitive loads from a normal supply that experiences a disturbance to an alternate supply that is unaffected by the disturbance.
