Lifetime measurements in the yrast band of 132Ce

TLDR
Mean lifetimes have been measured for states up to Ipi =18+ in the yrast band of 132Ce using the recoil distance method in this article, which contrasts with the anomalously high B(E2) values measured in 130Ce.
Abstract
Mean lifetimes have been measured for states up to Ipi =18+ in the yrast band of 132Ce using the recoil distance method. In the vicinity of the first backbend, caused by the alignment of a pair of h11/2 protons, a pronounced drop in the collectivity is observed. This contrasts with the anomalously high B(E2) values measured in 130Ce. The results are compared with the theoretical predictions of the MONSTER code.

Transition probability from the ground to the first-excited 2^+ state of even-even nuclides

TL;DR: In this paper, the reduced electric quadrupole transition probability, B(E2)↑, from the ground state to the first-excited 2+ state of even-even nuclides are given in Table I.

Nuclear Data Sheets for A=132

TL;DR: In this article, the decay of 132La to 132Ba has been studied in several works, including some recent papers, but in the opinion of the evaluators, this decay scheme still suffers from incompleteness, especially from the point of view of separate level schemes from the ground state and the isomeric activities.

Second minimum lifetime measurements in 133Nd and 137Nd.

TL;DR: The quadrupole moments of the highly deformed, second minimum bands in {sup 133]Nd and {sup 137}Nd have been extracted from mean lifetime measurements using the Doppler shift attenuation method in good agreement with the predictions of total Routhian surface calculations.

A target chamber for recoil-distance lifetime measurements

TL;DR: In this article, a target chamber for recoil-distance measurements of nuclear lifetimes is described, where the plunger can be set at 2 × 10 −4 inch from a target foil of 0.25 inch diameter without touching.

The performance of a bismuth germanate escape suppressed spectrometer

TL;DR: An escape suppressed spectrometer has been built and its performance measured as mentioned in this paper, which consists of three elements: a cylindrically symmetric suppression shield made from bismuth germanate and sodium iodide, and a germanium detector inserted into the shield along its axis.

Mean-lifetime measurements within the superdeformed second minimum in 132Ce.

TL;DR: In this paper, the first measurements of collectivity of discrete lines at high spin within the superdeformed second minimum are presented. But they are not consistent with the moment of inertia determined from the energy-level spacing.

Shape of rotating quasiparticle orbits and signature splitting in La, Ce, and Pr nuclei

TL;DR: A simple semiclassical picture of the rotating spatial density distribution for spin-aligned high-j$ quasiparticles emerges from the cranking model as mentioned in this paper, and evidence for the physical relevance of this picture can be sought in the signature splitting of rotational bands in soft nuclei.
