Observation of Anomalous Internal Pair Creation in Be 8 : A Possible Indication of a Light, Neutral Boson
A. Krasznahorkay,M. Csatlós,L. Csige,Z. Gácsi,J. Gulyás,M.D. Hunyadi,István Kuti,B. M. Nyakó,L. Stuhl,J. Timár,Tamas Gabor Tornyi,Zs. Vajta,T.J. Ketel,A. Krasznahorkay +13 more
TL;DR: Significant enhancement relative to the internal pair creation was observed at large angles in the angular correlation for the isoscalar transition with a confidence level of >5σ, which could possibly be due to nuclear reaction interference effects or indicate that, in an intermediate step, a neutral isosCalar particle was created.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for a spin-aligned neutron–proton paired phase from the level structure of 92Pd

Williams +59 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that this coupling scheme replaces normal superfluidity in the ground and low-lying excited states of the heaviest N = Z nuclei, and has a considerable impact on the nuclear level structure and possibly influence the dynamics of rapid proton capture in stellar nucleosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: This observation reports the first example of chiral geometry inoctupole soft nuclei in octupolesoft nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI
Excitation of the isovector GDR by inelastic α-scattering as a measure of the neutron skin of nuclei
A. Krasznahorkay,A. Balanda,J.A. Bordewijk,Sijtze Brandenburg,Muhsin N. Harakeh,Nasser Kalantar-Nayestanaki,B. M. Nyakó,J. Timár,A. van der Woude +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the cross section of the isovector giant dipole resonance (GDR) has been measured in the Sn-116, Sn-124(alpha, alpha'gamma0), 150Nd(alpha and gamma 0) and Pb-208(α, alpha 0) reactions at E(alpha) = 120 MeV and 0-degrees less than or equal to THETA(alpha') less-than-or-equal-to 3degrees.

TL;DR: The Advanced GAmma Tracking Array (AGATA) has been installed at the GANIL facility, Caen-France as discussed by the authors, where it has been designed to couple AGATA with a magnetic spectrometer, charged-particle and neutron detectors, scintillators for the detection of high energy γ rays and other devices such as a plunger to measure nuclear lifetimes.
