Trigonal Bipyramidal or Square Pyramidal Coordination Geometry? Investigating the Most Potent Geometry for Vanadium Phosphatase Inhibitors

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the five-coordinate geometry of VO4X coordination spheres with regard to their structure from the point of view of square pyramidal or trigonal bipyramidal geometries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lithium phenolates solvated by tetrahydrofuran and 1,2-dimethoxyethane: structure determination using the method of continuous variation.

TL;DR: The method of continuous variation in conjunction with Li NMR spectroscopy was used to characterize lithium phenolates solvated by tetrahydrofuran and 1,2-dimethoxyethane, and the refinement of protocols for characterizing O-lithiated species are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Organic heterobimetallic complexes of the alkaline earth metals (Ae = Ca, Sr, Ba) with tetrahedral metallate anions of three-valent metals (M = B, Al, Ga, and V)

TL;DR: In this paper, the average structural parameters of the boranates [Ca(thf)6][BPh4]2 (1), the alanates [Li(thfa)2(tmeda)][AlPh3(tmp)] (3), [(thfa 2K(N-carbazolyl)2AlMes2] (4), and [Sr(thfb)7][Alph4] 2 (5), of the gallate [Ca (dme)4][GaEt3(N)-carbazyl

Linear and Nonlinear Two-Coordinate Vanadium Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, and Magnetic Properties of V(II) Amides

TL;DR: The synthesis and characterization of the first stable two-coordinate vanadium complexes are described and magnetometry studies showed that the major absorptions in their UV-vis spectra were due to ligand to metal charge transfer transitions.
Journal ArticleDOI

3d early transition metal complexes supported by a new sterically demanding aryloxide ligand

TL;DR: Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies of 1, 2, and the 3d metal complexes 5-8 clearly show the steric demand of the bulky ligand, whereas in transition metal complexes the authors do not observe the formation of mononuclear tris-aryloxide complexes.
