Models of hierarchically constrained dynamics for glassy relaxation

TLDR
In this paper, a class of models for relaxation in strongly interacting glassy materials is suggested, where degrees of freedom are divided into a sequence of levels such that those in level $n+1$ are locked except when some of those inlevel $n$ find the right combination to release them, representing the hierarchy of constraints in real systems.
Abstract
A class of models for relaxation in strongly interacting glassy materials is suggested. Degrees of freedom are divided into a sequence of levels such that those in level $n+1$ are locked except when some of those in level $n$ find the right combination to release them, this representing the hierarchy of constraints in real systems. The Kohlrausch anomalous relaxation law, $\mathrm{exp}[\ensuremath{-}{(\frac{t}{\ensuremath{\tau}})}^{\ensuremath{\beta}}]$, emerges naturally, and a maximum time scale is found which exhibits a Vogel-Fulcher-type temperature dependence.

Colloidal particle adsorption at liquid interfaces: capillary driven dynamics and thermally activated kinetics

TL;DR: In this article, a Langevin model was proposed to describe the entire adsorption process of single colloidal particles by considering metastable states produced by surface defects and thermal motion of the particle and liquid interface.

Cooperative or noncooperative dielectric relaxation in ionic solids: A discriminating experimental approach

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the variation of thermally stimulated depolarization currents with the heating rate depends on the polarization decay function that is assumed, and that consideration of the kinetics involved in nonequilibrium TSDC spectroscopy is an essential and complementary, experimental tool for dielectric measurements carried out under isothermal conditions in the frequency domain.
