Alexander Berk,Lawrence S. Bernstein,Gail P. Anderson,Prabhat K. Acharya,David C. Robertson,James H. Chetwynd,Steven M. Adler-Golden +6 more
TLDR
In this paper, the impact of these upgrades on predictions for AVIRIS viewing scenarios is discussed for both clear and clouded skies; the CK approach provides refined predictions for nadir and near-nadir viewing.About:

Enhanced automated canopy characterization from hyperspectral data by a novel two step radiative transfer model inversion approach.
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel approach, called CRASh, is presented for the concurrent retrieval of leaf area index, leaf chlorophyll content, leaf water content and leaf dry matter content from high resolution solar reflective earth observation data.

Correcting Infrared Spectra for Atmospheric Transmission
TL;DR: In this article, a line-by-line radiative transfer model for the Earth's atmosphere was proposed to estimate the spectrum of the Earth in the near-IR spectral region.

Estimating surface fluxes over the SGP site with remotely sensed data
TL;DR: In this paper, an approach to combine these data with an energy balance model was studied as part of the 1997 Southern Great Plains Experiment (SGP97), where VNIR and TIR images were analyzed over the El Reno, Oklahoma (OK) site using data from the Thermal Infrared Multispectral Scanner (TIMS) and Thematic Mapper Simulator (TMS) airborne instruments.

An Optical Classification Tool for Global Lake Waters
Marieke A. Eleveld,Ana B. Ruescas,Annelies Hommersom,Timothy S. Moore,Steef Peters,Carsten Brockmann +5 more
TL;DR: A spectral classification scheme based on area-normalized spectral reflectance focusing on spectral shape and one that retains magnitude with no modification to the reflectance signal is provided, resulting in a protocol that can be applied or adapted for Sentinel-3 Ocean and Land Colour Imager datasets.

TL;DR: The HITRAN molecular absorption database as mentioned in this paper contains line parameters for 31 species and their isotopomers that are significant for terrestrial atmospheric studies, including chlorofluorocarbons and other molecular species that are not amenable to line-by-line representation.

A description of the correlated k distribution method for modeling nongray gaseous absorption, thermal emission, and multiple scattering in vertically inhomogeneous atmospheres
Andrew A. Lacis,Valdar Oinas +1 more
TL;DR: A radiative transfer method for treating nongray gaseous absorption and thermal emission in vertically inhomogeneous multiple scattering atmospheres is described in this paper, where probability density distributions of absorption coefficient strength are derived from line-by-line calculations to construct line-By-line and band model based k distributions.
