TLDR
In this paper, the Mossbauer effect has been used in the study of nuclear gamma ray absorption in crystalline systems, and the theory of the effect and its practical details are presented.
Abstract
Recoil-free emission and resonant absorption of nuclear gamma rays (i.e., the Mossbauer effect) has proven to be an effective tool in the study of certain physical and chemical properties of crystalline systems. The theory of the effect, as well as certain practical details, are presented. On this basis the experimental work on inorganic glasses is discussed and the usefulness of the tool in such systems assessed.

Investigation of the high-temperature behaviour of coal ash in reducing and oxidizing atmospheres

TL;DR: In this paper, phase analysis of ash samples quenched from various temperatures under either a reducing (60% CO/40% CO2) or an oxidizing (air) atmosphere was performed by Mossbauer spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/automatic image analysis (AIA), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Structure and redox equilibria of iron-bearing silicate melts

TL;DR: In this article, the anionic structure of the silicate network of the melts has been determined with laser Raman spectroscopy, and it was interpreted to suggest that quenched metasilicate melts on the join CaSiO3-MgSiO 3 predominantly consist of three structural unitsseparate Sioxtetrahedra, Siroland Sirofunits.

Some Properties of Supported Small α − Fe 2 O 3 Particles Determined with the Mössbauer Effect

TL;DR: In this paper, the Mossbauer spectra of a sample with an arbitrary number of particles was analyzed and the particle size distribution of the quadrupole splitting was determined as a function of particle size and temperature, and an independent value of the crystalline anisotropy constant in the $c$ plane was derived.

Note on the Paramagnetic Resonance of Iron in Glass

TL;DR: In this article, a theory is proposed explaining the observed g value and the implications for the atomic surroundings of Fe++ + + are discussed, and it is also proposed that the g=6 resonance observed in glass by Sands is due to Fe+ ++ + plus.
