Structural equation modeling analysis of data collected from 258 users of a variety of IT applications in 14 organizations provides support for the hypothesis that attitude and subjective norms were substitutes in predicting intention to use.Abstract:
Empirical results both from information technology acceptance research as well as from other fields suggest that attitude and subjective norms may have a nonlinear relationship. Based on the economic theory of complementarities, the present paper hypothesizes a substitution relationship or negative synergy between attitude and subjective norms in organizational IT use contexts. Employing two methods for modeling and measuring nonlinear effects of latent constructs, as well as two approaches for visualizing and interpreting interaction and quadratic terms, structural equation modeling analysis of data collected from 258 users of a variety of IT applications in 14 organizations provides support for the hypothesis that attitude and subjective norms were substitutes in predicting intention to use.read more

Shackled to the status quo: the inhibiting effects of incumbent system habit, switching costs, and inertia on new system acceptance
Greta L. Polites,Elena Karahanna +1 more
TL;DR: The study explains how use of an incumbent system negatively impacts new system perceptions and usage intentions and hypothesizes that inertia leads to decreased perceptions of the ease of use and relative advantage of a newly introduced system and has a negative impact on intentions to use the new system.

Understanding Nonmalicious Security Violations in the Workplace: A Composite Behavior Model
TL;DR: This study proposes and test empirically a nonmalicious security violation (NMSV) model with data from a survey of end users at work, and suggests that utilitarian outcomes, normative outcomes, and self-identity outcomes are key determinants of end user intentions to engage in NMSVs.

Examining factors influencing Jordanian customers’ intentions and adoption of internet banking: Extending UTAUT2 with risk
TL;DR: In this paper, a conceptual model based on the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) was proposed and examined to explain the key factors influencing Jordanian customers' intentions and adoption of Internet banking.

A unified model of knowledge sharing behaviours: theoretical development and empirical test
TL;DR: A unified model that is comprehensive and yet parsimonious, based on the decomposed theory of planned behaviour (DTPB) with three sets of critical antecedents: psychological, organisational and technological that are theorised to influence KS behaviours is developed.

Knowledge Management Capabilities and Organizational Risk-Taking for Business Model Innovation in SMEs
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the impact of knowledge management capabilities on business model innovation and how these effects are moderated by a firm's risk-taking tolerance, and found that knowledge management is only effective for firms with a low risk taking tolerance.

The theory of planned behavior
TL;DR: Ajzen, 1985, 1987, this article reviewed the theory of planned behavior and some unresolved issues and concluded that the theory is well supported by empirical evidence and that intention to perform behaviors of different kinds can be predicted with high accuracy from attitudes toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control; and these intentions, together with perceptions of behavioral control, account for considerable variance in actual behavior.

Common method biases in behavioral research: a critical review of the literature and recommended remedies.
TL;DR: The extent to which method biases influence behavioral research results is examined, potential sources of method biases are identified, the cognitive processes through which method bias influence responses to measures are discussed, the many different procedural and statistical techniques that can be used to control method biases is evaluated, and recommendations for how to select appropriate procedural and Statistical remedies are provided.

User acceptance of information technology: toward a unified view
TL;DR: The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as mentioned in this paper is a unified model that integrates elements across the eight models, and empirically validate the unified model.

Foundations of Social Theory
TL;DR: In this article, a new approach to describing both stability and change in social systems by linking the behavior of individuals to organizational behavior is proposed. But the approach is not suitable for large-scale systems.
