Introduction. Mathematical approximations have been used since ancient times to estimate solutions, but with the rise of digital computing the field of numerical analysis has become a discipline in its own right. Numerical analysts develop and study algorithms that provide approximate solutions to various types of numerical problems, and they analyze the accuracy, efficiency and robustness of these algorithms. As technology becomes ever more essential for the study of mathematics, learning algorithms that provide approximate solutions to mathematical problems and understanding the accuracy of such approximations becomes increasingly important. Filter Design With Secrecy Constraints: The MIMO Gaussian Wiretap Channel
TL;DR: This paper considers the problem of filter design with secrecy constraints, where two legitimate parties communicate in the presence of an eavesdropper over a Gaussian multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wiretap channel, and assesses the efficacy of the designs in guaranteeing not only a certain MSE level at the eavesdroppers, but also in limiting the error probability at the microphones.

Modelling method for critical current of YBCO tapes in cable use

Age-associated Iron Accumulation in Bone: Implications for Postmenopausal Osteoporosis and a New Target for Prevention and Treatment by Chelation
TL;DR: It is found that one possible mechanism of the protective action of iron chelation was to significantly reduce bone resorption and provide a novel target and a potentially useful therapeutic strategy for the prevention and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis and perhaps other age-related diseases.
