Parton distributions: a study of the new HERA data, αs, the gluon and pp jet production

TLDR
In this paper, the HERA measurements of the proton structure function at small x allow the opportunity to improve our knowledge of the gluon and quark distribution functions, and they perform a global analysis which incorporates these new precise data, and which extends down to Q 2 = 1.5 GeV2.

Parton distributions for the LHC

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented an updated leading-order, next-to-leading order and next-next-ordering order parton distribution function (MSTW 2008) determined from global analysis of hard-scattering data within the standard framework of leading-twist fixed-order collinear factorisation in the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$¯¯$¯¯¯¯¯

Off-forward parton distributions

Xiangdong Ji
- 01 Jul 1998 -
TL;DR: Recently, there have been some interesting developments involving off-forward parton distributions of the nucleon, deeply virtual Compton scattering, and hard diffractive vector-meson production.

Ordered analysis of heavy flavor production in deep-inelastic scattering

R.S. Thorne, +1 more
- 01 Jun 1998 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of going from one description to the other can be solved in a satisfactory manner to all orders, where the key ingredient is the constraint of matching the evolution of the physical structure function F_2 order by order in alpha-s(Q^2) in addition to the matching of the value of Fǫ itself.

ZEUS next-to-leading-order QCD analysis of data on deep inelastic scattering

Sergei Chekanov, +352 more
- 01 Jan 2003 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of a next-to-leading-order QCD analysis of the ZEUS data on deep inelastic scattering together with fixed-target data were performed, from which the gluon and quark densities of the proton and the value of the strong coupling constant alpha(s)(M-Z) were extracted.

Freedom at Moderate Energies: Masses in Color Dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of quark and target masses in lepton-hadron scattering were discussed, assuming a color SU(3) gauge theory of strong interactions, and the best renormalization procedure is to specify all parameters in the Lagrangian (coupling constants and masses) as well as wave function normalizations at Euclidean momenta of scale M.

Precise measurements of the proton and deuteron structure functions from a global analysis of the SLAC deep inelastic electron scattering cross sections

TL;DR: In this paper, the proton and deuteron structure functions were determined over the entire SLAC kinematic range: 0.06 ⩽x⩽0.9 and 0.6⌽Q2⌈30.0 (GeV/c)2.

Global QCD Analysis and the CTEQ Parton Distributions

TL;DR: A new set of distributions, CteQ3, incorporating several new types of data is reported and compared to the two previous sets of CTEQ distributions, and the remaining uncertainties in the parton distributions are assessed.
