Oral Colonization, Phenotypic, and Genotypic Profiles of Candida Species in Irradiated, Dentate, Xerostomic Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Survivors

TL;DR: In conclusion, irradiation-induced xerostomia seems to favor intraoral colonization of Candida species, particularly C. albicans, which appeared to undergo temporal modifications in clonal profiles both phenotypically and genotypically following hygienic and preventive oral care which included topical antifungal therapy, if indicated.

Clinical evaluation of all-ceramic crowns

TL;DR: In this in vivo study, IPS Empress crowns luted with both dentin bonding agents functioned satisfactorily with a relatively low fracture rate over a mean evaluation period of 24.56 months after insertion.

Changes in TGF-beta 1 levels in gingiva, crevicular fluid and serum associated with periodontal inflammation in humans and dogs.

TL;DR: In beagles, TGF-beta 1 levels measured in gingival fluid were elevated in moderate disease, declining in fluid samples obtained from the pockets during more advanced experimental periodontitis, and with the progression of experimental periodentitis, a decrease in TGF -beta 1 occurred in the sera of the beagle dogs.

Pregnancy gingivitis: History, classification, etiology

TL;DR: The histologic changes apparently do not arise from a single etiological factor, but are a manifestation of the altered nutritional and the metabolic status of the individual during pregnancy, and the immediate cause of the gingival changes appears to be a diminished utilization of estrogen or a modification of estrogen metabolism.
