TL;DR: The data suggests that tetracycline therapy inhibits tissue collagenolytic enzyme activity by a mechanism al least in part unrelated to its antibacterial efficacy, and this mechanism may provide a new therapeutic approach for suppressing excessive collagen resorption which occurs during periodontal disease and which can occur during other pathologic conditions.

Long‐term effect of surgical/non‐surgical treatment of periodontal disease
TL;DR: The results of the examinations showed that the patients' standard of self-maintained oral hygiene had a decisive influence on the long-term effect of treatment, suggesting that the critical determinant in periodontal therapy is not the technique that is used for the elimination of the subgingival infection, but the quality of the debridement of the root surface.

Long-term implant survival and success: a 10-16-year follow-up of non-submerged dental implants.
TL;DR: Despite a relatively high long-term survival rate, biological and technical complications were frequent and patients with a history of periodontitis may have lower implant survival rates than patients without a History of Periodontitis and were more prone to biological complications such as peri-implant mucositis and peri -implantitis.
