Treatment of gingival recession: Comparative study between subepithelial connective tissue graft and guided tissue regeneration

TL;DR: It was concluded that the gingival recessions treated with the SCTG group were superior for GR, RC, and KT clinical parameters, while GTR demonstrated better PD reduction.

CAD/CAM Zirconia vs. slip-cast glass-infiltrated Alumina/Zirconia all-ceramic crowns: 2-year results of a randomized controlled clinical trial

TL;DR: This clinical study demonstrates that single-tooth InCeram® Zirconia and Cercon® ZIRconia crowns have comparable early clinical outcome, both seem as acceptable treatment modalities, and most importantly, all-ceramic alumina crowns strengthened by 25% zirconIA can sufficiently withstand functional load in the posterior zone.

Efficacy of adjunctive anti-plaque chemical agents in managing gingivitis: A systematic review and network meta-analyses

TL;DR: Although NMA revealed significant differences when comparing placebo versus some active agent, when comparing among active agents, no differences were found for dentifrices, while mouth rinses containing essential oils showed the greatest effect on GI scores.

Supragingival cleaning 3 times a week. The microbiological effects in moderately deep pockets.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that supragingival plaque control has little effect on the subgingival microflora of deep periodontal pockets, however, this may not be true for moderately deep pockets (4-5 mm), which may represent a pathological state between gingivitis and marginal periodontitis.

Microbial Ecology of the Oral Cavity

TL;DR: The importance of the oral microorganisms to the process of dental caries was first recognized by Miller (1889) at the end of the last century but it is only in the last 18 years that any interest has been shown in oral microbial ecology.

Pregnancy gingivitis: History, classification, etiology

TL;DR: The histologic changes apparently do not arise from a single etiological factor, but are a manifestation of the altered nutritional and the metabolic status of the individual during pregnancy, and the immediate cause of the gingival changes appears to be a diminished utilization of estrogen or a modification of estrogen metabolism.
