The effect of a triclosan-containing dentifrice on established plaque and gingivitis.

TL;DR: The findings from the re-examinations revealed that an oral hygiene regimen which utilized a dentif Rice which contained triclosan/copolymer significantly reduced pre-existing plaque and gingivitis above what was accomplished by a traditional fluoride containing dentifrice.

Correlation between BANA test and oral malodor parameters

TL;DR: In this article, the association between the BANA test (Perioscan®, Oral-B) and oral malodor parameters was investigated, and it was found that BANA scores were significantly associated with odor-judge ratings, with the highest association obtained when BANA saliva scores and odorjudge saliva assessment were compared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of gingivitis in pre-school children and young adults. A comparative experimental study.

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of pre-school children and young adults was made with objective registration methods to confirm the existence of a difference in the propensity to develop gingivitis when oral hygiene is abandoned.

Scaling and granulation tissue removal in periodontal therapy

TL;DR: The data from the examinations demonstrated that subgingival scaling is an effective measure in the treatment of periodontal disease, and non-surgical therapy appeared to be equally effective as a surgical approach to treatment.

Pregnancy gingivitis: History, classification, etiology

TL;DR: The histologic changes apparently do not arise from a single etiological factor, but are a manifestation of the altered nutritional and the metabolic status of the individual during pregnancy, and the immediate cause of the gingival changes appears to be a diminished utilization of estrogen or a modification of estrogen metabolism.
