Selçuk Yilmaz,Bahar Kuru,Bahar Kuru,Leyla Kuru,Ülkü Noyan,Ülkü Noyan,Dilek Argun,Tanju Kadir +7 more
TL;DR: Short‐term results on selected microbiological and clinical parameters obtained by treatment with soft laser in conjunction with methylene blue and/or mechanical subgingival debridement in human periodontal disease are described.

Periodontal healing after impacted lower third molar surgery. A retrospective study.
TL;DR: The results showed a higher incidence of plaque, gingivitis and pockets on the distal surface of the second molar than on other surfaces of the first and second molars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periodontal healing and periopathogenic microflora in smokers and non‐smokers
TL;DR: The results suggest a less favourable clinical outcome of non-surgical therapy in smokers than non-smokers in spite of the fact that the therapy was equally effective with regard to reducing the alleged periopathogens A. actinomycetemcomitans, P. gingivalis and P. intermedia.

Efficacy of mouthrinses in inhibiting dental plaque and gingivitis in man.
Per Axelsson,Jan Lindhe +1 more
TL;DR: The results of the trial demonstrated that the 3 active mouthwash preparations used as supplements to regular tooth cleaning measures markedly improved both the oral hygiene status and the gingival conditions of the participating human volunteers, compared to the control rinse.

The Use of Collagen Membrane Barriers in Conjunction With Combined Demineralized Bone‐Collagen Gel Implants in Human Infrabony Defects
TL;DR: Similar advantages to using bone-collagen grafts with and without membranes were found in reducing probing depths and gaining new attachment, and significant differences were found when comparing the multifaceted bone graft collagen-membrane technique to all others in achieving superior defect fill.

Pregnancy gingivitis: History, classification, etiology
Daniel E. Ziskin,Gerald J Nesse +1 more
TL;DR: The histologic changes apparently do not arise from a single etiological factor, but are a manifestation of the altered nutritional and the metabolic status of the individual during pregnancy, and the immediate cause of the gingival changes appears to be a diminished utilization of estrogen or a modification of estrogen metabolism.
