Strength, stiffness and ductility of concrete-filled steel columns under axial compression

TL;DR: In this article, a finite element model was used to generate simulation data covering a wide range of parameters for circular and rectangular CFST stub columns under axial compression, and regression analysis was conducted to predict the compressive strength, the compositional stiffness, and compressive strain for the composite columns, and the capacity reduction factors for the steel and concrete materials were recalibrated to achieve a target reliability index of 3.04 when considering resistance effect only.

TL;DR: In this paper, a modified Andreasen & Andersen particle packing model is used to achieve a densely compacted cementitious matrix, and the results show that the influence of FA, ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) and limestone powder (LP) on the early hydration kinetics of UHPC is very similar during the initial five days, while the hydration rate of the blends with GGBS is mostly accelerated afterwards.
