In this article, it was shown that upon annealing, warm-worked NiAl recrystallizes and undergoes subsequent grain growth in a manner typical of metals and alloys.Abstract:
Experiments have established that upon annealing, warm-worked NiAl recrystallizes and undergoes subsequent grain growth in a manner typical of metals and alloys. The recrystallization and grain growth kinetics, respectively, can be described by the expressionsX v = 1 - exp(-Bt k ) and −d =Ct n where Xv is the fraction recrystallized,t is time, −d is the average grain size, andB, k, C, andn are parameters whose magnitudes depend upon temperature.read more

A brittle to ductile transition in NiAl of a critical grain size
Erland M. Schulson,D.R. Barker +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the grain size on the ductility of the material was investigated and it was found that the ductile capacity of NiAl is independent of grain size for aggregates of grains larger than about 20 microns.

Drag effect of triple junctions on grain boundary and grain growth kinetics in aluminium
TL;DR: In this article, the motion and geometry of connected 2D grain boundary systems with triple junctions in aluminium was investigated in situ in an SEM with a specially designed heating stage, and the results show that triple junction can have a marked influence on grain boundary motion and grain growth kinetics.
