Abstract
Experiments have established that upon annealing, warm-worked NiAl recrystallizes and undergoes subsequent grain growth in a manner typical of metals and alloys. The recrystallization and grain growth kinetics, respectively, can be described by the expressionsX v = 1 - exp(-Bt k ) and −d =Ct n where Xv is the fraction recrystallized,t is time, −d is the average grain size, andB, k, C, andn are parameters whose magnitudes depend upon temperature.

A brittle to ductile transition in NiAl of a critical grain size

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the grain size on the ductility of the material was investigated and it was found that the ductile capacity of NiAl is independent of grain size for aggregates of grains larger than about 20 microns.

Direct Growth of Compound Semiconductor Nanowires by On-Film Formation of Nanowires: Bismuth Telluride

TL;DR: The OFF-ON technique is a simple but powerful method for growing perfect single-crystal compound semiconductor nanowires of high aspect ratio with high crystallinity that distinguishes it from other competitive growth approaches that have been developed to date.

Drag effect of triple junctions on grain boundary and grain growth kinetics in aluminium

TL;DR: In this article, the motion and geometry of connected 2D grain boundary systems with triple junctions in aluminium was investigated in situ in an SEM with a specially designed heating stage, and the results show that triple junction can have a marked influence on grain boundary motion and grain growth kinetics.

Recrystallization and grain growth of Co3Ti

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of composition on recrystallization and grain growth were interpreted in terms of excess solute atoms, suggesting the same diffusion-controlling mechanism for the two processes.

Interdiffusion and intrinsic diffusion in the Ni AI (δ) phase of the Al-Ni system

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the diffusion coefficient at 950 to 1150°C and the ratio of intrinsic diffusion coefficients at 1100°C in the NiAl (δ) phase of the Al-Ni system using a vapor solid technique.

Diffusion in the intermetallic compound NiAl

TL;DR: The diffusion coefficient of nickel in the intermetallic compound NiAl has been measured as a function of temperature and composition and the activation energy for diffusion changes considerably across the phase field and is particularly sensitive to the presence of constitutional vacancies.
