Remanufacturing for the Circular Economy: An Examination of Consumer Switching Behavior
TLDR
This article found that consumers have a poor opinion of remanufactured products and are typically not prepared to adopt them, which is an important moderating factor predicting consumer switching behavior to remanufacturing products.Abstract:
For the circular economy to be tenable, consumers need to not only return products after use, but also purchase products that are remanufactured. However, research finds that consumers have a poor opinion of remanufactured products and are typically not prepared to adopt them. Thus, development of the circular economy is dependent upon deeper understanding of consumers’ attitudes and behaviors. Research typically considers either micro-level or macro-level factors when assessing consumer perceptions of remanufactured products. The current research incorporates macro-level factors of price, government incentives and environmental benefits with the moderating influence of micro-level consumer attitudes to examine consumers’ intention to switch from purchasing new products to remanufactured products. The findings suggest that a consumer's attitude toward remanufactured products is an important moderating factor predicting consumer switching behavior to remanufactured products. Developing effective reverse logistics programs
TL;DR: A recent survey in the automobile aftermarket industry examines reverse logistics practices as discussed by the authors. But the authors focus on two key issues: 1) the influence of program design characteristics, i.e., formalization, returns policy restrictiveness, and innovation, on program performance and 2) the differential influence of making versus buying reverse logistics program software.

Understanding why firms should invest in sustainable supply chains: a complexity approach
TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that firms focusing on individual sustainable development elements independently are unlikely to find satisfactory solutions to their sustainable supply chain problems, and they use a matrix of interactions as a template, allowing for the identification of key financial, social and environmental elements and their interconnections within and between supply chains.

The Role of Habit in Post-Adoption Switching of Personal Information Technologies: An Empirical Investigation
Chen Ye,Richard E. Potter +1 more
TL;DR: It is argued that users’ habit plays a critical role in post-adoption IT switching, and the habit of using the incumbent product both contributes to the mooring effects during the formation of intention to switch, and moderates the relationship between intention and switching.
