Abstract
This review deals mainly with the literature which has appeared since the discovery of pectin lyases in 1960. Those papers have been selected which are reports of investigations carried out with purified enzyme preparations and rather well defined substrates. According to their action on high polymer pectic substances, the enzymes are placed in one of six different groups. Mutual relationships of some of the groups are discussed. It is emphasized that the choice of substrates and reaction conditions, as well as that of methods of analysis, to a large extent influence the values found for a number of enzyme properties. Trends for future research are outlined.

Ovarian toxicity by fusariotoxins in pigs: Does it imply in oxidative stress?

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of mycotoxins on the reproductive system of pigs were evaluated using porcine explants, and the results indicated a reproductive toxicity induced by fusariotoxins.

Quality of Enzymatically Treated 72° Brix Orange Juice Stored at Refrigerated Temperatures

TL;DR: In this article, fresh Valencia orange juice was treated with 0, 70, and 350 ppm of commercial pectic enzymes, concentrated to 72° Brix and stored at −7°, −1°, 7°, and 13°C for up to 6 months.

Endocrine disruptors on and in fruits and vegetables: Estimation of the potential exposure of the French population.

TL;DR: In this paper, the exposure to the main PPPs and to phytoestrogens known as endocrine disruptors (EDs) is estimated from the maximum residue limits (MRLs) of 70 potential ED-PPPs used in France on 64 fruits and vegetables.

Splitting of pectin chain molecules in neutral solutions

TL;DR: Observations of the rapid decrease in viscosity and increase in reducing end groups are indicative of a splitting of glycosidic bonds within the pectin chain macromolccules, which strongly indicate the formation of an unsaturated compound.

Extracellular and intracellular polygllacturonic acid trans-eliminases of Erwinia carotovora.

TL;DR: From the cells of the same organism, an intracellular enzyme wag isolated which has properties similar to those of the extra-cellular polygalacturonic acid trans-eliminase was purified from the culture fluid of Erwinia carolovora.
