Semantic association ability mediates the relationship between brain structure and human creativity.

TLDR
Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper explored the brain mechanisms underlying semantic associative ability and its relationship with creativity based on semantic distance, and found that semantic distance was positively correlated with the gray matter volume (GMV) of the left posterior inferior temporal gyrus (LpITG), which is associated with visual word learning, semantic knowledge retrieval, and semantic memory, in addition to divergent thinking and creative traits.

Data, Syntax, and Materials for "'Forward Flow': A New Measure to Quantify Free Thought and Predict Creativity"

TL;DR: The authors used latent semantic analysis to capture the semantic evolution of thoughts over time (i.e., how much present thoughts diverge from past thoughts) and found that forward flow predicts creativity in college students and a representative sample of Americans.

Brain connectivity-based prediction of real-life creativity is mediated by semantic memory structure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored associations between brain functional connectivity patterns, network properties of individual semantic memory, and real-life creativity, using a connectome-based predictive modeling approach.

Examples facilitate divergent thinking: The effects of timing and quality.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of examples' timing and quality on divergent thinking (DT) and found that in the late stage, fluency and flexibility were higher in the novel-example condition than in the common one.

Creativity in verbal associations is linked to semantic control

TL;DR: This article found that more creative responses to weakly associated word pairs were associated with the controlled retrieval of less dominant semantic information and greater recruitment of the semantic control network, which overlaps with the dorsomedial subsystem of default mode network.

Asymptotic and resampling strategies for assessing and comparing indirect effects in multiple mediator models

TL;DR: An overview of simple and multiple mediation is provided and three approaches that can be used to investigate indirect processes, as well as methods for contrasting two or more mediators within a single model are explored.

Efficient Estimation of Word Representations in Vector Space

TL;DR: This paper proposed two novel model architectures for computing continuous vector representations of words from very large data sets, and the quality of these representations is measured in a word similarity task and the results are compared to the previously best performing techniques based on different types of neural networks.

Efficient Estimation of Word Representations in Vector Space

TL;DR: Two novel model architectures for computing continuous vector representations of words from very large data sets are proposed and it is shown that these vectors provide state-of-the-art performance on the authors' test set for measuring syntactic and semantic word similarities.

A fast diffeomorphic image registration algorithm

TL;DR: DARTEL has been applied to intersubject registration of 471 whole brain images, and the resulting deformations were evaluated in terms of how well they encode the shape information necessary to separate male and female subjects and to predict the ages of the subjects.
