TLDR
It is suggested that by 2020, the number of students attending classes at the University of Southern California will have risen to about 20,000, up from about 10,000 in 1980.

White light-emitting diodes: History, progress, and future

TL;DR: The history of white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can be found in this paper, where the authors review the history of the conception, improvement, and commercialization of the white LED.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric surface passivation for silicon solar cells: A review

TL;DR: A review of the dielectric passivation coatings developed in the past two decades using a standardised methodology to characterise the metrics of surface recombination across all techniques and materials is provided in this article.
Journal Article

Eurasian Journal of Educational Research

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the level of teachers' organizational citizenship behaviors and counter-productive work behaviors based on public primary school administrators' and teachers' perceptions and the relationship between these two variables.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanoparticles-based magnetic and photo induced hyperthermia for cancer treatment

TL;DR: A direct comparison of these two techniques and a further need of the combined therapy (magnetic hyperthermia plus photothermal therapy) was highlighted as a new pathway for cancer treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Negative spin Hall magnetoresistance of Pt on the bulk easy-plane antiferromagnet NiO

TL;DR: In this paper, spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) measurements of Pt Hall bars on antiferromagnetic NiO(111) single crystals are reported. But the authors do not consider the effect of magnetic moments alignment and the external magnetic field direction.

Full angular dependence of the spin Hall and ordinary magnetoresistance in epitaxial antiferromagnetic NiO(001)/Pt thin films

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied bilayers of thin films of the epitaxial antiferromagnetic insulator NiO(001) and the heavy metal Pt and found that a careful subtraction of the ordinary magnetoresistance contribution in Pt is crucial to determine the SMR amplitude and thus the N\'eel vector average orientation.

Search for long-lived, weakly interacting particles that decay to displaced hadronic jets in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

TL;DR: In this paper, a search for the decay of neutral, weakly interacting, long-lived particles using data collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC is presented, using the full data set recorded in 2012: 20.3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 8 TeV.

The intersection of nitrogen nutrition and water use in plants: new paths toward improved crop productivity.

TL;DR: This review explores the intricate relationship between water and nitrogen transport in plants, from transpiration-driven mass flow in the soil to uptake by roots via membrane transporters and channels and transport to aerial organs and advocate for incorporation of new phenotyping technologies, breeding strategies, and agronomic practices to improve crop yield.
