TLDR
In this paper, the preparation and capping of silver nanoparticles by several unsaturated long-chain carboxylates was studied using UV−visible and FTIR spectroscopy and high-resolution electron microscopy.Abstract:
We study the preparation and capping of silver nanoparticles by several unsaturated long-chain carboxylates UV−visible and FTIR spectroscopy and high-resolution electron microscopy are used to characterize the effect of the chain length, its configuration, and the degree of unsaturation on the size distribution of the nanoparticles Langmuir layers and Langmuir−Blodgett films are used to study the adsorption of these carboxylates on the particles We find that unsaturated carboxylates in the cis configuration are useful stabilizers for the control of particle size and its surface propertiesread more

An evidence-based environmental perspective of manufactured silver nanoparticle in syntheses and applications: a systematic review and critical appraisal of peer-reviewed scientific papers.
TL;DR: The antibacterial property of bulk silver is expected to be carried over and perhaps enhanced, to silver nanoparticles, and when one examines the environmental issues associated with the manufacture and use of silver nanoparticle-based products, the antibacterial effects should always be taken into account.

Interaction of Fatty Acid Monolayers with Cobalt Nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this paper, a stable colloidal suspension of magnetic nanoparticles is challenging owing to both van der Waals forces and magnetic dipolar interactions, which is why it is essential to coat magnetic particles with magnetic coatings.
