TLDR
Electron microscopic analysis indicates that yeast nuclear DNA can be isolated as linear molecules ranging in size from 50 mum (1.2 x 10(8) daltons) to 355 mum (8.4 x 10 (8)Daltons), consistent with the hypothesis that each yeast chromosome contains a single, linear DNA duplex.
Abstract
Electron microscopic analysis indicates that yeast nuclear DNA can be isolated as linear molecules ranging in size from 50 μm (1.2 × 108 daltons) to 355 μm (8.4 × 108 daltons). Analysis indicates the data is consistent with the hypothesis that each yeast chromosome contains a single, linear DNA duplex. Mitochondrial DNA molecules have a contour length of 21 ± 2 μm and are mostly linear.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cell Cycle

TL;DR: The bibliography is intended more as a guide to the literature than as a historically accurate record of the development of the field; the authors apologize to the earlier workers whose contributions thus get less explicit credit than they deserve.

Separation of chromosomal DNA molecules from yeast by orthogonal-field-alternation gel electrophoresis

TL;DR: The design of the apparatus, the electrophoretic protocol, and the sample-handling procedures that are employed are described, and several of which have been shown by DNA-DNA hybridization to hybridize uniquely to different chromosome-specific hybridization probes are described.

The repair of double-strand breaks in the nuclear DNA of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and its genetic control.

TL;DR: It is concluded that there are 1 to 2 double-strand breaks per lethal event in diploid cells incapable of repairing these breaks, indicating a requirement for protein synthesis.

The use of fluorescent DNA-binding agent for detecting and separating yeast mitochondrial DNA.

TL;DR: The use of 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole dihydrochloride (DAPI) in cesium chloride gradients, fluorescent staining of cells with DAPI, and sensitivity of the staining procedure are discussed.

The Analysis of Variance

TL;DR: In this paper, the basic theory of analysis of variance by considering several different mathematical models is examined, including fixed-effects models with independent observations of equal variance and other models with different observations of variance.
