Socioeconomic Characteristics and Trends in the Consumption of Ultra-Processed Foods in Korea from 2010 to 2018

TL;DR: In this article , the authors examined the association of UPF intake with all-cause, cancer and cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality, and found no evidence of an association between total UPF consumption and all cause, cancer or CVD mortality, but ultraprocessed red meat and fish in both sexes, and milk and soymilk drinks in men were positively associated with all cause mortality.

TL;DR: Choi et al. as discussed by the authors investigated correlations between socio-demographic and health behavioral factors affecting consumption of ultra-processed foods and quality of diet in Korean adults and concluded that it is necessary to reorganize processed food guidelines so that a balanced diet can be achieved by selecting the right food and reducing the intake of processed food according to individual socio-emographic factors and health behavior factors.
