TLDR
In this paper, the enzyme was almost completely resistant to deactivation by acetaldehyde, which is liberated as unavoidable byproduct in acyl-transfer reactions with vinyl esters, and the enantioselectivity was enhanced up to threefold.Abstract:
Immobilization of Candida rugosa lipase (Amano AY-30) by adsorption onto Celite 545 led to a markedly improved performance of the enzyme: Firstly, the enzyme was almost completely resistant to deactivation by acetaldehyde, which is liberated as unavoidable by-product in acyl-transfer reactions with vinyl esters, and secondly, the enantioselectivity was enhanced up to three-fold.read more

Biodiesel production from sunflower, soybean, and waste cooking oils by transesterification using lipase immobilized onto a novel microporous polymer
TL;DR: It was shown that immobilized enzymes retain their activities during 10 repeated batch reactions at 25 degrees C, each lasting 24h, which means the developed novel method could have a potential to be used industrially for the production of chemicals requiring immobilized lipases.

Biodiesel production from canola oil by using lipase immobilized onto hydrophobic microporous styrene–divinylbenzene copolymer
TL;DR: In this article, the methyl esters of the long chain fatty acids (biodiesel) were synthesized by methanolysis of canola oil by immobilized lipase Lipase from Thermomyces lanuginosus was immobilized by both physical adsorption and covalent attachment onto polyglutaraldehyde activated styrene-divinylbenzene (STY-DVB) copolymer.

Sensitivity of microbial lipases to acetaldehyde formed by acyl-transfer reactions from vinyl esters
TL;DR: The sensitivity of microbial lipases towards acetaldehyde (an unavoidable by-product in lipase-catalysed acyl transfer reactions with vinyl esters) was investigated, and lipases from Candida rugosa and Geotrichum candidum lost most of their activity when exposed to acetaldehyde.
