The process of biosorption of heavy metals in bioreactors loaded with sanitary sewage sludge

TL;DR: In this paper, the process of biosorption of nickel and chromium in an ascendant continuous-flow, fixed packed-bed bioreactor of sanitary sewage sludge was conducted in a search for solutions to the environmental problem caused by heavy metals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Parameters optimization for enzymatic assays using experimental design

TL;DR: In this paper, the conditions for maximization enzymatic activity were determined using experimental design and inulinase from Kluyveromyces marxianus ATCC 16045.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of column with modified silica for interfering retention in a FIA spectrophotometric method for direct determination of vitamin C in medicine

TL;DR: In this paper, a column packed with modified silica with modified aminopropyl groups was used to eliminate interference by ionic pair formation between amine groups and interfering compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chloramination of iodide-containing waters: Formation of iodinated disinfection byproducts and toxicity correlation with total organic halides of treated waters

TL;DR: The comparison of measured and calculated cytotoxicity values showed that the calculated values do not always represent the overall cytot toxicity, since the formation of unknown DBPs are not taken into consideration during the toxicity calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

A rapid infection assay for Armillaria and real-time PCR quantitation of the fungal biomass in planta

TL;DR: A new infection assay is tested, in which grape rootstocks growing in tissue culture medium are inoculated, and compared to rootstocks previously characterized from the existing infection assay as tolerant (Freedom) or susceptible (3309C); findings of higher percent root colonization than Freedom at all harvests suggests that the quantitative methods of the new assay give similar results to the qualitative method of theexisting infection assay.

The distribution of range in samples from a normal population, expressed in terms of an independent estimate of standard deviation

TL;DR: In this article, it has been shown that a rapid estimate of o may be obtained from the mean value of the range, which is only slightly less accurate than the estimate obtained from sum of squares.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developments in Multiple Comparisons 1966–1976

TL;DR: A bibliography of papers on multiple comparisons between 1966 and 1976 is contained, which includes a discussion of some of the more important developments during this period.
