In this article, a selection of fit indices that are widely regarded as the most informative indices available to researchers is presented, along with guidelines on their use and strategies for their use.
Abstract
The following paper presents current thinking and research on fit indices for structural equation modelling. The paper presents a selection of fit indices that are widely regarded as the most informative indices available to researchers. As well as outlining each of these indices, guidelines are presented on their use. The paper also provides reporting strategies of these indices and concludes with a discussion on the future of fit indices.

Does the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) matter in Sukuk investment decisions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the TPB model to investigate the use of Sukuk in Qatar and found that attitude has a significant and positive effect on the Behavioural intention to use Sukuk.

Weight bias internalization across weight categories among school-aged children. Validation of the Weight Bias Internalization Scale for Children.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the WBIS-C is a psychometrically sound and informative tool to assess weight bias internalization among children.

Underemployment and well-being in the UK before and after the Great Recession

TL;DR: The authors assesses how the Great Recession affected relationships between different dimensions of underemployment and well-being, and demonstrate that negative wellbeing consequences of workers' dissatisfaction with opportunities to make use of their abilities became more substantial, as did the consequences of being "hours constrained" and having an unsatisfactory workload.

Parents and friendships: A longitudinal examination of interpersonal mediators of the relationship between child maltreatment and suicidal ideation

TL;DR: Depression and friendships are related to suicide ideation in later adolescence and depression partially mediates the association between CM and SI, suggesting that the early CM affects depression severity, which in turn is associated with SI.

Institutional governance and protection motivation: Theoretical insights into shaping employees’ security compliance behavior in higher education institutions in the developing world

TL;DR: An empirical test of the influence of institutional governance (IG) on protection motivation and planned behavior of employees in HEIs confirms the significant contribution of IG in motivating protection behavior among employees of HEIs.

Cutoff criteria for fit indexes in covariance structure analysis : Conventional criteria versus new alternatives

TL;DR: In this article, the adequacy of the conventional cutoff criteria and several new alternatives for various fit indexes used to evaluate model fit in practice were examined, and the results suggest that, for the ML method, a cutoff value close to.95 for TLI, BL89, CFI, RNI, and G...

A new look at the statistical model identification

TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Principles and Practice of Structural Equation Modeling

TL;DR: The book aims to provide the skills necessary to begin to use SEM in research and to interpret and critique the use of method by others.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models

TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.
