Models for Active Sites of Metalloenzymes: Comparison of Zinc and Beryllium Containing Complexes
Roman Osman,Harel Weinstein +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, metal-containing models of the active site of the metalloenzyme carboxypeptidase were studied by quantum chemical ab initio calculations, and the results indicated that while the Be complex may simulate some of the purely electrostatic effects of the Zn-containing model, it does not represent as well as Zn complex some reactivity elements that have been implicated in the role of the metal in the catalytic mechanism of CARP.

Thermal stability of Pd(1,4-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine)Cl2 and its role in the catalysis of base hydrolysis of α-amino acid esters
TL;DR: Pd(BHEP)Cl2 was synthesized and characterized in this article, leaving a residue of palladium metal Amino acid ester (L) reacts with [Pd[PHEP)(H2O]2]2+ giving mixed-ligand complexes with these ligands do not involve alkoxycarbonyl donors.

A thermal investigation of the stability of crystalline cross-linked carboxypeptidase a
TL;DR: In this paper, the carboxypeptidase A was crosslinked with glutaraldehyde, and samples of the enzyme and apoenzyme were examined by thermogravimetric, dif- ferential thermal and thermomechanical analyses.

Bifunctional catalysis by a metal ion and a carboxylate anion in hydrolysis of an alkyl ester and an alkyl amide in dimethyl sulfoxide: A carboxypeptidase a model
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the catalytic action of the carboxylate anion and the metal ion in the hydrolysis of alkyl ester and alkyls amide bonds, which is characteristic of carboxypeptidase A action.

Isolation and Crystal Structure of [Cu(L1)(O2CH)](ClO4) · H2O: Hydrolysis of DMF (N,N-Dimethylformamide) by a Copper(II) Tetraazamacrocycle
TL;DR: The tetraazamacrocyclic copper(II) complex, [Cu(L)](ClO4)2 (L = 3,14-dimethyl-2,6,13,17-tetraazatricyclo[14.18.07]docosane), hydrolyzes DMF at room temperature.

Structure of papain.
TL;DR: A three-dimensional X-ray study at a resolution of 2.8 A has revealed that the single polypeptide chain of 211 residues is folded into two distinct parts which are divided by a cleft as mentioned in this paper.
