TLDR
Compound 6a has extensively inhibited the Microvessel Density or tumoral neovasculature which was evident from the CD31 immuno staining and peritoneal H&E staining, and the major reason for the antiproliferative activity of compound 6a was due to the repression of tumor vasculature.

Berberine prevents non-alcoholic steatohepatitis-derived hepatocellular carcinoma by inhibiting inflammation and angiogenesis in mice

TL;DR: Berberine achieved its biological functions mainly by regulating inflammation and angiogenesis genes involving p38MAPK/ERK-COX2 pathways, providing a potential drug for treating NASH-HCC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design, synthesis and molecular docking of benzophenone conjugated with oxadiazole sulphur bridge pyrazole pharmacophores as anti inflammatory and analgesic agents.

TL;DR: Among the series of novel benzophenones conjugated with oxadiazole sulphur bridge pyrazole moiety 8a-l, compound 8i with electron withdrawing fluoro group at the para position of the benzoyl ring of benzophenone was characterized by highest IC50 values for both COX-1 andCOX-2 inhibition, which is comparable to the standard drug.

A computer image analysis system for microvessel density measurement in solid tumours

TL;DR: In this paper, an image analysis system described here enables MVD measurement to be carried out with minimal expense in any reasonably equipped pathology department or laboratory, and demonstrated that the system translates easily between tumour types which are suitably stained with minimal calibration.

Role of angiogenesis in tumor growth and metastasis

TL;DR: Preclinical studies have shown that endostatin effectively inhibits tumor growth and shrinks existing tumor blood vessels and therapy with endogenous inhibitors of angiogenesis, such asendostatin and angiostatin may reverse the angiogenic switch preventing growth of tumor vasculature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Murine models to evaluate novel and conventional therapeutic strategies for cancer.

TL;DR: It is recommended that future studies incorporate orthotopic and spontaneous metastasis models (syngeneic and xenogenic) because they incorporate microenvironmental interactions, in addition to confirmatory autochthonous models and/or genetically engineered models, for molecular therapeutics.

Antitumor activity of silver nanoparticles in Dalton’s lymphoma ascites tumor model

TL;DR: The present study demonstrates the efficacy of biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as an antitumor agent using Dalton’s lymphoma ascites cell lines in vitro and in vivo and suggests that they may be a cost-effective alternative in the treatment of cancer and angiogenesis-related disorders.

Microvessel density as a prognostic factor in women with breast cancer: a systematic review of the literature and meta-analysis.

TL;DR: MVD was a significant although weak prognostic factor in women with breast cancer, and between-study variations could result from patient selection criteria, techniques to stain and count microvessels, and cutoff selection.

Synthesis and anti-inflammatory activity of 1-acylthiosemicarbazides, 1,3,4-oxadiazoles, 1,3,4-thiadiazoles and 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones.

TL;DR: Side effects of the compounds were examined on gastric mucosa, liver and stomach and none of the compound showed significant side effects compared with reference nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
