The molybdenum blue reaction for the determination of orthophosphate revisited: Opening the black box.

TLDR
This review aims to rationalise the findings of the many 'optimised' molybdenum blue methods in the literature in terms of the underlying polyoxometallate chemistry and offers suggestions for the further enhancement of this time-honoured analytical reaction.

The Versatility of Antioxidant Assays in Food Science and Safety-Chemistry, Applications, Strengths, and Limitations.

TL;DR: This unparalleled review hotly disputes on in vitro antioxidant assays and elaborates on the chemistry behind each assay with the aim to point out respective principles/concepts, and concludes with a critical conclusion on existing assays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of phosphate from water by lanthanum-modified zeolites obtained from fly ash.

TL;DR: The efficiency of adsorption process was found to depend on the concentration of adsorbate, pH of its solution and temperature, and the values of the thermodynamic parameters ΔH0 and ΔG0 revealed that the advertisersorption was spontaneous and endothermic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of phosphorus in natural waters: A historical review

TL;DR: A virtual special issue is introduced that reviews the development of analytical approaches to the determination of phosphorus species in natural waters, focusing on sampling and sample treatment, analytical methods and quality assurance of the data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rare Earth Polyoxometalates.

TL;DR: Novel RE-POM coordination polymers demonstrate the promise of higher-dimensional materials for catalytic and sensing applications that can make use of either or both rare earth and polyoxometalate capabilities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Skin color-specific and spectrally-selective naked-eye dosimetry of UVA, B and C radiations.

TL;DR: The customized design of robust real-time solar UV dosimeters to meet the specific need of different skin phototypes are demonstrated, which offer remarkable potential in managing the impact of UVR in the authors' day-to-day life.

A modified single solution method for the determination of phosphate in natural waters

J. Murphy, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a single solution reagent was described for the determination of phosphorus in sea water, which consists of an acidified solution of ammonium molybdate containing ascorbic acid and a small amount of antimony.
