Quantifying and Exploring Strategic Regional Priorities for Managing Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services Given Multiple Stakeholder Perspectives
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantify the strategic management priorities for natural capital and ecosystem services using multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) in a case study of the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board (the Board) region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Collinearity diagnosis for a relative risk regression analysis: an application to assessment of diet-cancer relationship in epidemiological studies.
TL;DR: The analysis suggests that the non-significant relative risks for the crude intakes in relative risk models that relate crude intakes and nutrient densities to breast cancer cases in the NHANES-I follow-up study may be due to their involvement in collinear relationships, while the nonsignificant relative risks are far less affected by multicollinearity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adequacy of laser diffraction for soil particle size analysis.
TL;DR: The many advantages of Laser diffraction for soil particle size analysis, and the empirical results of this study, suggest that deployment of laser diffraction as a standard test procedure can provide reliable results, provided consistent sample preparation is used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extreme channelization of fluid and the problem of element mobility during Barrovian metamorphism
Jay J. Ague,Jay J. Ague +1 more
TL;DR: Geochemical profiles across chemically altered zones (selvages) surrounding amphibolite facies quartz+kyanite veins were investigated to determine major, minor, and trace element mass transfer and volume strain due to channelized fluid flow as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Values below detection limit in compositional chemical data
TL;DR: Some well-founded statistical methods are revisited in this paper aiming to prevent practitioners from relying on popular but untrustworthy approaches and a new proposal to estimate less-thans combining a log-normal probability model and a multiplicative modification of the samples is introduced.

Problems of relative growth
TL;DR: This detailed study of the different rates of growth of parts of the body relative to the body as a whole represents Sir Julian Huxley's great contribution to analytical morphology, and it is still a basis for modern investigations in morphometrics and evolutionary biology.

Experiments with Mixtures: Designs, Models and the Analysis of Mixture Data
TL;DR: In this paper, the original Mixture Problem is described and models for exploring the Entire Simplex Factor Space are presented, including matrix algebra, least squares, and the analysis of variance.
New statistical methods for allometry with application to
TL;DR: In this paper, Mosimann et al. presented new statistical methods for the study of size and shape, and used these methods to study the morphology of red-winged blackbirds, Agelaius phoeniceus breeding in Florida.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of dispersion on a sphere
TL;DR: In this article, a series of approximate tests of significance is given for hypotheses about the precision constant K and the polar vector on a sphere, where 8' is the angle between the polar and observation vectors.
