TLDR
Developing countries, especially those in Africa and southern Asia, incur the highest burden in terms of absolute numbers, although a high rate is also observed in North America.Abstract:

TL;DR: It is suggested that folic acid supplementation and higher dietary folate intake during preconception and pregnancy reduces the risk of preterm birth, and the protective effect varies by preterm subtypes.

Diagnostic accuracy of rapid phIGFBP-I assay for predicting preterm labor in symptomatic patients
TL;DR: NPV did not differ between phIGFBP-1 and fFN for delivery <37 weeks, so clinicians must decide whether the use of either test is justified.

TL;DR: The hypothesis that the lack of caveolin expression in the SCB is one of the most important physiological mechanisms that prevents vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is explained.

TL;DR: There appeared to be a blunted, flattened pattern of change in cortisol levels across gestation in the women who delivered preterm, suggesting diminished hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis responsiveness in mechanisms that promote preterm labor.

TL;DR: The evidence indicating that the pathological processes implicated in the preterm parturition syndrome include: intrauterine infection/inflammation; uterine ischaemia; (3) uterine overdistension; (4) abnormal allograft reaction; (5) allergy; (6) cervical insufficiency; and (7) hormonal disorders (progesterone related and corticotrophin‐releasing factor related).

TL;DR: Over the past 20-30 years advances in perinatal care have improved outcomes for infants born after short gestations, but there is still uncertainty and incomplete recording of estimates of gestation in developed countries.
