Theoretical breakup model in the planar liquid sheets exposed to high-speed gas and droplet size prediction

TLDR
In this article, a phenomenological two-staged breakup model for a cylindrical jet exposed to high-speed gas has been extended to the planar sheet, combined with a classical linear stability analysis whether gas compressibility and viscosity are included.

Prediction model of volume average diameter and analysis of atomization characteristics in electrostatic atomization minimum quantity lubrication

TL;DR: In this article , a mathematical model of charged droplet volume average diameter (VAD) is constructed based on three dimensions of the liquid film, namely its thickness, transverse wavelength, and longitudinal wavelength.

A note on the relation between temporally-increasing and spatially-increasing disturbances in hydrodynamic stability

TL;DR: In this paper, the frequency and amplification rates for a disturbance growing with respect to time are compared with those of a spatially growing wave having the same wave number, and it is shown that the frequencies are equal to a high order of approximation.

The aerodynamic instability and disintegration of viscous liquid sheets

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the aerodynamic instability and disintegration of viscous sheets with particular reference to those produced by fan-spray nozzles is made, and a drop-size relation is formulated which compares favourably with experimental data in the literature.

Investigation of the instability of a moving liquid film

TL;DR: In this paper, the stability of a thin layer of liquid moving in still air is studied theoretically with the object of throwing light on the break-up of films during atomization, and it is found that instability occurs if W = T/ρ 1U2h < 1 and that the wavelength for maximum growth factor, for W « 1, is λ = (4πT/ρ 2U2U2).
