Dynamic and static charging processes of single molecules - A scanning probe study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated fundamental properties of molecules in the tunnelling junction using combined scanning tunneling (STM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), and five different experimental topics are addressed.
Journal ArticleDOI

K promoted oxidation of Al and Ta

TL;DR: In this article, the response to oxygen exposure of potassium-precovered, polycrystalline aluminum and tantalum substrates has been studied using core level and valence band photoemission.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sc-Containing (Scandate) Thermionic Cathodes: Mechanisms for Sc Enhancement of Emission

TL;DR: The mechanism by which the addition of Sc enhances cathode emission remains ambiguous, and nonuniform emission, low reproducibility, and inconsistent longevity continue to prevent widespread commercial integration of scandate cathodes into electron devices as mentioned in this paper .
Journal ArticleDOI

Cs induced work function changes on the graphite (0001) surface

TL;DR: In this paper, the retarding potential method has been used to measure the work function changes due to Cs adsorption on the graphite (0001) surface, and it has been shown that with increasing Cs coverage up to a coverage θ = 1 × 10 14 atoms cm 2 after which there is no significant change.

Chapter 5 – electric double layer at electrode interfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors classified particle chemisorption on solid surfaces into two modes: physisorcption and chemisorcization, where the affinity of adsorption is small and the lifetime of the adsorbed atoms remaining on the surface is short.
