TLDR
In this article, the results of a numerical evaluation of a characteristic equation derived in Part I, appropriate to free harmonic waves propagated along a hollow cylinder of infinite extent, were given for some representative cylinders covering the entire range from thin shells to solid cylinders.
Abstract
The results are given of a numerical evaluation of a characteristic equation derived in Part I, appropriate to free harmonic waves propagated along a hollow cylinder of infinite extent. This equation is evaluated for some representative cylinders covering the entire range from thin shells to solid cylinders, and the results are compared with the corresponding results of a shell theory. Observations are made regarding the variation of the frequency spectrum with the physical parameters, as well as the range of applicability of shell theories.

Lamb wave tomography of pipe-like structures.

TL;DR: A meridional-array scheme which mimics a single line of transducers along the exterior surface of the pipe in the axial direction is described, and proof of concept results on a pipe sample with an internal wall-thinning are shown.

Natural beam focusing of non-axisymmetric guided waves in large-diameter pipes.

TL;DR: The approximate analytical algorithms presented in this paper provides a convenient method enabling quick acoustic field analysis on large-diameter industrial pipes for NDE applications and predicts that the wave beam will converge to its original circumferential shape after the wave propagates for a certain distance.

Guided wave propagation in an elastic hollow cylinder coated with a viscoelastic material

TL;DR: The propagation of ultrasonic guided waves in an elastic hollow cylinder with a viscoelastic coating is studied to provide tools for performing a guided wave, nondestructive inspection of piping and tubing with viscoels, and to show some guided wave modes that propagate with little or no attenuation in the coated structures of interest.

Guided wave helical ultrasonic tomography of pipes

TL;DR: A new variation called helical ultrasound tomography (HUT) is described that uses guided ultrasonic waves along with tomographic reconstruction algorithms that have been developed by seismologists for what they call "cross borehole" tomography.

Inspection and monitoring systems subsea pipelines: A review paper:

TL;DR: One of the largest movers of the world economy is the oil and gas industry, which generates billions of barrels of oil to match more than half the world's energy demands as discussed by the authors.
