TLDR
In this article, the results of a numerical evaluation of a characteristic equation derived in Part I, appropriate to free harmonic waves propagated along a hollow cylinder of infinite extent, were given for some representative cylinders covering the entire range from thin shells to solid cylinders.
Abstract
The results are given of a numerical evaluation of a characteristic equation derived in Part I, appropriate to free harmonic waves propagated along a hollow cylinder of infinite extent. This equation is evaluated for some representative cylinders covering the entire range from thin shells to solid cylinders, and the results are compared with the corresponding results of a shell theory. Observations are made regarding the variation of the frequency spectrum with the physical parameters, as well as the range of applicability of shell theories.

Influence of wall thickness and diameter on arterial shear wave elastography: a phantom and finite element study

TL;DR: Wall thickness should correctly be measured in arterial SWE applications for accurate mechanical properties estimation and the phase velocity curves obtained from experiments and simulations showed good agreement.

Detection and quantification of pipe damage from change in time of flight and phase.

TL;DR: If the pipe is not damaged but the transducer-pipe bonding is deteriorated then although the received signal strength is altered the TOF and phase remain same avoiding the false positive alarms of damage.

Three-Dimensional Effects in Low-Strain Integrity Testing of Large Diameter Pipe Piles

TL;DR: In this article, the authors formulated a solution for determining the vertical vibration response along the cross-section of the pipe pile head to an impact load, which robustly accounts for coupling of pipe pile and viscoelastic soil vibrations.

Photo-acoustic excitation and optical detection of fundamental flexural guided wave in coated bone phantoms.

TL;DR: Photo-acoustic imaging was combined with skeletal quantitative ultrasound (QUS) for assessment of human long bones and ultrasonic in vivo characterization of cortical bone thickness may thus become possible.

Detection and assessment of pitting corrosion in rebars using scattering of ultrasonic guided waves

TL;DR: In this article, a robust non-destructive evaluation technique was developed by using the scattering of ultrasonic guided waves for early detection and assessment of localised damage in bare rebars in the form of corrosion pits.
