The security, agility, and robustness/survivability of a large-scale power delivery infrastructure that faces new threats and unanticipated conditions is presented.Abstract:
In this article, we present the security, agility, and robustness/survivability of a large-scale power delivery infrastructure that faces new threats and unanticipated conditions. By way of background, we present a brief overview of the past work on the challenges faced in online parameter estimation and real-time adaptive control of a damaged F-15 aircraft. This work, in part, provided the inspiration and laid the foundation in the 1990s for the flight testing of a fast parameter estimation/modeling and reconfigurable aircraft control system that allowed the F-15 to become self-healing in the face of damaged equipment.read more

Self-healing enhancement through co-deployment of automatic switches and electric vehicle PLs in an electricity distribution network
Seyed Mohsen Mohammadi Hosseininejad,Hamed Mirsaeedi,Shoeib Heydari,Alireza Fereidunian,Hamid Lesani +4 more
TL;DR: The reliability of the electrical distribution grid has been improved by optimal allocation of automatic switches and parking lots (PLs) by minimising a combined effect of the customer-based (system average interruption duration index) and cost-based reliability indices.

A graph theoretic characterization of perfect attackability and detection in Distributed Control Systems
TL;DR: This paper first reviews necessary and sufficient conditions for deterministic detection of integrity attacks carried out by any number of malicious agents, and develops a notion equivalent to structural left invertibility in terms of vertex separators of a graph, which allows a designer to efficiently determine if a network is perfectly attackable.

Modeling of Electric Vehicle Charging Systems in Communications Enabled Smart Grids
TL;DR: Simulation results show that peak electricity demand can be reduced if EVs carrying higher loads are less sensitive to the signal, and the model proposes an M/M/∞ queue with random interruptions, and analysis uses time-scale decomposition.

The future's smart delivery system [electric power supply]
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a location-dependent approach based on the characteristics of the existing power system and nature of the load at each specific site to determine optimal solutions to digital end users' security, quality, reliability, and availability (SQRA) requirements.

Plug in to grid computing
TL;DR: The ability of grid-enabled systems to interact autonomously is vital for small generators where manned operation is likely to be viable and the ability to monitor the output of embedded generators to be monitored and controlled is vital.
