Use of analytic network process in vendor selection decisions

TLDR
In this article, an analytic network process (ANP) model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers, it is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi-criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.
Abstract
Purpose – To provide a good insight into the use of analytic network process (ANP) that is a multiple criteria decision‐making methodology in evaluating supplier selection problems.Design/methodology/approach – Supplier selection problems are multi‐objective problems which have many qualitative and quantitative concerns. In this study, an ANP model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers.Findings – It is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi‐criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.Research limitations/implications – ANP is a complex methodology and requires more comparisons than the traditional AHP and it increases the effort.Originality/value – Provides an effective framework to guide managers for evaluating suppliers.

Development of analytic network process for the selection of material handling systems in the design of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS)

TL;DR: The development of the analytic network process (ANP) for the selection of MHS in the design of FMS for a hypothetical case organisation is demonstrated and it is revealed that conveyor is a better alternative for the FMS under the given case situation.

Fuzzy multi-objective decision model for calibration supplier selection problem

TL;DR: This study proposes a fuzzy multi-objective linear programming model that assigns the calibration supplier to the measurement device using two objectives: maximizing the fuzzy weight of the criteria and minimizing the fuzzy calibration cost through fuzzy calibration time, the number of certified experts, the technical capability of the company, and the measurement devices demand.

Developing a WPF-CCR model for selecting suppliers in the presence of stochastic data

TL;DR: In this article, the concept of chance-constrained programming is used to develop a Worst-practice frontier-Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes model and also its deterministic equivalent, and it is shown that the latter can be formulated as a quadratic program.

Application of AHP and Taguchi loss functions in evaluation of advanced manufacturing technologies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a decision model to help decision makers with their technology selection, which is a multi-criteria decision-making process encompassing various tangible and intangible factors.

A review of methods supporting supplier selection

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of decision methods reported in the literature for supporting the supplier selection process is presented, based on an extensive search in the academic literature, and the proposed methods specifically accommodate for buying situations for which few or no decision models were published so far.

A decision support system for supplier selection using an integrated analytic hierarchy process and linear programming

TL;DR: An integration of a analytical hierarchy process and linear programming is proposed to consider both tangible and intangible factors in choosing the best suppliers and placing the optimum order quantities among them such that the total value of purchasing (TVP) becomes maximum.
