Use of analytic network process in vendor selection decisions

TLDR
In this article, an analytic network process (ANP) model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers, it is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi-criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.
Abstract
Purpose – To provide a good insight into the use of analytic network process (ANP) that is a multiple criteria decision‐making methodology in evaluating supplier selection problems.Design/methodology/approach – Supplier selection problems are multi‐objective problems which have many qualitative and quantitative concerns. In this study, an ANP model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers.Findings – It is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi‐criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.Research limitations/implications – ANP is a complex methodology and requires more comparisons than the traditional AHP and it increases the effort.Originality/value – Provides an effective framework to guide managers for evaluating suppliers.

Strategic sourcing:a combined QFD and AHP approach in manufacturing

TL;DR: In this paper, an integrated analytical approach, combining quality function deployment (QFD) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) approach, is proposed to enhance the effectiveness of sourcing decisions, in which QFD is used to translate the company stakeholder requirements into multiple evaluating factors for supplier selection, which are used to benchmark the suppliers.

A mixed-integer non-linear program to model dynamic supplier selection problem

TL;DR: A mixed-integer non-linear program (MINLP) is developed to address the dynamic supplier selection problem (DSSP) and a numerical illustration is provided to demonstrate the proposed MINLP using LINGO.

Supplier selection in pharmaceutical industry

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a comprehensive method for the evaluation and selection of suppliers' offers in parapharmaceutical industry clusters, which consists of two parts: the first is the comprehension of the supply chain processes within the parapharma industry in Greece, and the second is the use of an analytic network process (ANP)based method for selecting the best offer.

Selection of lean manufacturing systems using the analytic network process – a case study

TL;DR: In this article, a case study of a medium-sized valve manufacturer is presented, in which the decision of implementing lean manufacturing is made by analyzing the capabilities, practices, tools and techniques of alternative manufacturing systems apart from understanding its effect on the decision areas of the operations department.

A fuzzy analytic network process method for risk prioritization in freeway PPP projects: an Iranian case study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on prioritizing significant risks in freeway PPP projects applying a fuzzy analytic network process (FANP) method for overcoming the problems of interdependencies and feedback among different risk-ranking alternatives.

A review of methods supporting supplier selection

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of decision methods reported in the literature for supporting the supplier selection process is presented, based on an extensive search in the academic literature, and the proposed methods specifically accommodate for buying situations for which few or no decision models were published so far.

A decision support system for supplier selection using an integrated analytic hierarchy process and linear programming

TL;DR: An integration of a analytical hierarchy process and linear programming is proposed to consider both tangible and intangible factors in choosing the best suppliers and placing the optimum order quantities among them such that the total value of purchasing (TVP) becomes maximum.
