Use of analytic network process in vendor selection decisions

TLDR
In this article, an analytic network process (ANP) model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers, it is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi-criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.
Abstract
Purpose – To provide a good insight into the use of analytic network process (ANP) that is a multiple criteria decision‐making methodology in evaluating supplier selection problems.Design/methodology/approach – Supplier selection problems are multi‐objective problems which have many qualitative and quantitative concerns. In this study, an ANP model is proposed in evaluating supplier selection process as a framework to help managers.Findings – It is shown that ANP can be used as a decision analysis tool to solve multi‐criteria supplier selection problems that contain interdependencies.Research limitations/implications – ANP is a complex methodology and requires more comparisons than the traditional AHP and it increases the effort.Originality/value – Provides an effective framework to guide managers for evaluating suppliers.

An application of hybrid data envelopment analytical hierarchy process approach for supplier selection

TL;DR: A hybrid data envelopment analytical hierarchy process (DEAHP) approach is proposed to solve the supplier selection problem for an automobile company using DEA and AHP methodologies.

A novel fuzzy data envelopment analysis model with double frontiers for supplier selection

TL;DR: In this article, a fuzzy DEA approach with double frontiers for selecting suppliers is developed, which can identify the best supplier appropriately and easily without the need of imposing any weight restriction or the need to calculate the cross-efficiency matrix, which may also result in inconsistent conclusions.

A Group Decision-Making Aggregation Model for Contractor Selection in Large Scale Construction Projects Based on Two-Stage Partial Least Squares (PLS) Path Modeling

TL;DR: A group decision model based on two-stage PLSs path modeling can eliminate correlation among indicators and the impact of subjectivity and heterogeneity among experts on the reliability of weighting schemes; more importantly, it can effectively solve the problem of having correlation indicators with different directions.

Using a multi-criteria decision making approach (ANP-TOPSIS) to evaluate suppliers in Iran’s auto industry

TL;DR: An integrated approach of ANP- TOPSIS (Analytic Network Process and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is proposed in choosing the best suppliers and defined the optimum quantities order among selected suppliers by using a mathematical model (Multi-Objective Linear Programming).

Integrated management systems: moving from function to organisation/decision view

TL;DR: The proposed approach focuses on the integrated management system (IMS) with respect to the organisation/decision view and offers a control mechanism which guarantees that requirements from all standards will be taken into consideration, while it proposes the use of a well‐known multi‐criteria decision making technique to support the decision makers.

A review of methods supporting supplier selection

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of decision methods reported in the literature for supporting the supplier selection process is presented, based on an extensive search in the academic literature, and the proposed methods specifically accommodate for buying situations for which few or no decision models were published so far.

A decision support system for supplier selection using an integrated analytic hierarchy process and linear programming

TL;DR: An integration of a analytical hierarchy process and linear programming is proposed to consider both tangible and intangible factors in choosing the best suppliers and placing the optimum order quantities among them such that the total value of purchasing (TVP) becomes maximum.
