Validity index for crisp and fuzzy clusters
TLDR
A cluster validity index and its fuzzification is described, which can provide a measure of goodness of clustering on different partitions of a data set, and results demonstrating the superiority of the PBM-index in appropriately determining the number of clusters are provided.About:

Topology-Based Hierarchical Clustering of
TL;DR: This paper proposes an automated clustering method for SOMs, which is a hierarchical agglomerative clustering of CONN, and shows that, for the datasets used in this paper, data-topology-based hierarchical clustering can produce better partitioning than hierarchical clusters based solely on distance information.

Homogeneous Regions of Precipitation Trends Across the Amazon River Basin, Determined From the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre - GPCC
TL;DR: In this article , the authors analyzed precipitation trends and formed homogeneous regions of precipitation trends in the Amazon River Basin using data from the meteorological satellite Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC), applying nonparametric methods (Mann-Kendall, Spearman and Sen's slope) and fuzzy C-means to identify specific regions that are undergoing changes in hydrological patterns.

Zero-Inflated Time Series Clustering Via Ensemble Thick-Pen Transform
Minji Kim,Heeseok Oh,Yaeji Lim +2 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors developed a new clustering method for high-dimensional zero-inflated time series data based on thick-pen transform (TPT), in which the basic idea is to draw along the data with a pen of a given thickness.
