Validity index for crisp and fuzzy clusters

TLDR
A cluster validity index and its fuzzification is described, which can provide a measure of goodness of clustering on different partitions of a data set, and results demonstrating the superiority of the PBM-index in appropriately determining the number of clusters are provided.

Sophisticated SOM based genetic operators in multi-objective clustering framework

TL;DR: An automated decomposition based multi-objective clustering technique, SOMDEA_clust, which is a fusion of self-organizing map (SOM) and multi- objective differential evolution (DE) and shows the effectiveness of fusion of SOM and DE in developing an effective clustering techniques.

Automatic clustering method based on evolutionary optimisation

TL;DR: An automatic clustering method based on evolutionary algorithms (EAs) that not only successfully detects the correct cluster numbers but also achieve stable results for most of test problems is introduced.

Artificial Immune Regulation (AIR) for Model-Based Fault Diagnosis

TL;DR: The artificial immune regulation was developed to diagnose the failures and the results show that it can detect and isolate actuator faults, sensor faults and system component faults simultaneously.

Enhanced rough-fuzzy c-means algorithm with strict rough sets properties

TL;DR: A modified partition criterion is proposed and Experimental results on synthetic datasets, real-life datasets, and image segmentation problems indicate that the proposed method outperforms its counterparts in most cases.

Portfolio formation and optimization with continuous realignment: A suggested method for choosing the best portfolio of stocks using variable length NSGA-II

TL;DR: The results show that returns from each of the portfolios, dynamically realigned each quarter, have been able to beat the benchmark index return over this study’s time period.
