TLDR
In this article, a method was described by which saturated and unsaturated fatty acids with 12-22 C atoms can be separated by paper chromatography by measuring the light absorption of the copper-ferrocyanide complexes developed from the fatty acids on the paper.
Abstract
A method is described by which saturated and unsaturated fatty acids with 12–22 C atoms can be separated by paper chromatography. By measuring the light absorption of the copper-ferrocyanide complexes developed from the fatty acids on the paper a satisfactory quantitative analysis of such fatty acid mixtures was possible.

Paper chromatography of unsaturated fatty acid esters as their mercuric acetate addition compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, a method is described by which unsaturated fatty acid esters can be separated and identified by reversed-phase paper chromatography, based upon the formation of the mercuric acetate addition compounds of the esters and the detection of the compounds on the chromatograms, using the sensitive color reaction with diphenyl carbazone.
