TLDR
In this paper, the spectral distribution curve of temperature radiation was shown to be similar to the velocity distribution of the electromagnetic spectrum of a single photon, and the formal similarity of spectral distribution curves to Maxwell's velocity distribution curve was revealed.Abstract:
The formal similarity of the spectral distribution curve of temperature radiation to Maxwell’s velocity distribution curve is too striking to have remained hidden very long.read more

Sub-Poissonian processes in quantum optics
TL;DR: In this article, a review of methods for generating sub-Poissonian light and related concepts is presented. But the authors focus on the conceptual foundations and developments in laser theory that lead to the possibility, already demonstrated experimentally, of linewidth narrowing and sub-poissonic light generation in lasers and masers.

Absolute limiting efficiencies for photovoltaic energy conversion
G.L. Araujo,Antonio Martí +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors extended the generality of those results and introduced new refinements to the Detailed Balance Theory and showed that the cell absorptivity is justified to be equal to the emissivity under bias operation and under certain idealistic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lasers in dermatology: four decades of progress.
TL;DR: In this review, the currently available laser systems with cutaneous applications are outlined, with primary focus placed on recent advancements and modifications in laser technology that have greatly expanded the cutaneous laser surgeon's armamentarium and improved overall treatment efficacy and safety.

Zinc oxide based dye-sensitized solar cells: A review
R. Vittal,Kuo-Chuan Ho +1 more
TL;DR: A broad survey of ZnO-based DSSCs can be found in this paper, where the authors highlight the potential of utilizing a znO photoanode in the place of a TiO2 photoanodes in a DSSC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photosynthetic reaction center as a quantum heat engine
TL;DR: This work shows the analogy between the energy level schemes of the special pair and of the laser/photocell QHEs, and predicts an enhanced yield of 27% in a QHE motivated by the reaction center, which suggests nature-mimicking architectures for artificial solar energy devices.
